Chemical Synthesis Intern (PhD) Summer 2023

Based out of Wickliffe, OH

The Lubrizol Corporation is looking for highly motivated students to join the internship program in Chemical Synthesis (R&D) for the summer of 2023.

What will you do in this opportunity?

• Use your knowledge in chemistry to support projects in the electrochemistry/energy storage space
• Full time (40 hrs/week) for 6-12 months
• Work collaboratively across R&D and internal stakeholders
• Daily tasks include synthesis, characterization, general electrochemistry techniques
• Generate ideas and execute proof of concept work
• Present scientific data at internal meetings with other chemists, engineers, project managers, etc.
• Record experiments in an electronic notebook
• Follow safe laboratory practices

Who are we looking for?

• Current PHD candidate pursuing a graduate degree in chemistry from an accredited college or university
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Curiosity, passion, and drive for tackling real world problems
