Account Manager – Oilfield and Refining

Position Location: Anywhere in the US near a major airport

If the above rings true for you, consider joining The Lubrizol Corporation - a Berkshire Hathaway Company.  Lubrizol is a leading global specialty chemical company on the fore front of innovation and marketing automotive, industrial, and consumer products!  As an Account Manager within the recently formed Specialty Additives Business within Lubrizol, you will have the opportunity to help grow a business that focusses high valued intermediates and formulated products directly to both upstream oil & gas and refining market segment.  The Specialty Additives Business is focused on the development of technologies and solutions to help our customers grow in a highly valued market.  Do you have what it takes to be an Account Manager for a global leader? 

 

Key Duties:

  • Manage and grow a customer base – acting as champion for the customer within Lubrizol and for Lubrizol with your customer base
  • Develop relationships within customer organizations including technical, business and procurement departments
  • Be able to technically represent Lubrizol’s broad chemical product portfolio for the upstream oil & gas market and the downstream refining sector
  • Understand and communicate the value drivers of key customers in order to promote Lubrizol solutions.
  • Collaborate within Lubrizol’s  Sales, Technical, Operational, and Marketing teams to be able to develop best solutions for customer needs
  • Manage and grow profitability at accounts assigned, including utilization of Lubrizol’s price management system, implementing price adjustments as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Technical undergraduate degree with advanced degree preferred
  • Must have a strong technical aptitude with keen understanding of chemistries utilized in the upstream production and downstream refining markets
  • Back in processes and chemistries utilized refining
  • 5+ years of successful experience selling specialty chemicals
  • including 3+ years selling into the upstream oil & gas market or downstream refining
  • Proven track record of year-over-year sales growth
  • Is comfortable talking to a wide range of decision influencers
  • Ability to work independently, as this position will be remotely located
  • Demonstrated ability in New Business Development
  • Demonstrated project management skills needed to manage the long development cycle of the oil & gas industry
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50% (overnight)
