Summary

This position is responsible for managing and growing Chemtool Inc’s. Industrial fluid sales within in a distributor network across Ohio, Pennsylvania, in alignment with the Chemtool organizations Commercial goals. 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Understand the overall business, market needs product technology demands, competitor landscape and emerging trends within business.
  • Provide leadership in developing short term and long-term strategies to maintain current sales volumes and grow the business within the assigned territory.
  • Manage multiple distributors in sales and business support tasks that enable Chemtool and Distributor to exceed customer expectations.
  • Communicate with stakeholders – commercial team, customers, and other associates in a respectful and professional manner to foster a productive working environment.
  • Maintain a high work ethic (timeliness/punctuality) and abide by LZ/Chemtool legal & ethical guidelines.

 

Customer & Technical Support

  • Work internally with product management team, customer service, finance (credit establishment), supply chain, and technical support to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Develop & communicate (internally) short- and long-term business plans.
  • Develop innovative ways to work efficiently and/or to manage customers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of product line and applications where the products generate value.
  • Understand customer needs and provide innovative ideas for technical solutions using Chemtool’s product offers.
  • Lead liaison between Distributors and the internal Chemtool organization for customer issues.

 

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Act as the champion for Distributors and customers
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Chemtool’s Quality systems, policies, and organization.
  • Actively attend and participate in sales and technical meetings within and outside Chemtool.

 

Physical Requirements

  • 30% to 50% travel within assigned region.
  • Ability to safely walk through manufacturing facilities and around manufacturing applications.

 

Education/Training

  • BS degree in chemistry or engineering field or a non-technical degree with relevant commercial experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience in a technical commercial role.

 

Experience and Skills

  • Technical and or sales background in specialty chemicals or lubricants.
  • Ability to manage 5 Distributors across large geographic territory.
  • Report writing and presentation – commercial, technical, plans, presentations to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to organize and present data in a cohesive and meaningful fashion.
  • Ability to listen and identify Distributor and customer needs to provide the desired level of support.
  • Informed decision making, project prioritization and time management.
  • Negotiation and communication skills to deal with routine and challenging business situations.
  • Motivated self-starter who is willing to take initiative.
  • Team player who is also an individual performer.
  • Computer skills including database, Excel, Word, PowerPoint; knowledge of SAP and pricing management systems is a plus.
