Bavaria Medizin Technologie GmbH (BMT), part of Lubrizol, specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of innovative medical devices, including the first commercial drug-coated balloon. Located near Munich, Germany, with a facility in Sibiu, Romania, BMT offers comprehensive services from R&D to logistics management. How You’ll Make an Impact
As Quality Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, compliance, and performance of the Quality Management System for our medical device operations. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to uphold world‑class quality standards, strengthen regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement aligned with business goals.
In this role, you will:
- Oversee the Quality Management System, including CAPA, Non‑Conformances, SCAR, Complaints, Supplier Management, Risk Management, Validation, Change Management, Records Management, and all requirements defined under EN‑ISO13485 and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Lead Quality Control operations including incoming, in‑process, and final inspection and testing, inspection methods, criteria, and equipment.
- Serve as the Quality Management Representative for ISO and other regulatory bodies as the most senior Quality leader within the business.
- Manage internal and external audits, including supplier audits and customer audits.
- Lead and develop team members within the Quality organization, including performance management, development planning, and daily oversight.
- Support and execute continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business objectives.
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience in Quality Management within the medical device sector
- Very strong knowledge of medical device regulatory requirements: ISO 13485, MDR, 21 CFR Part 820
- Very strong English and German language skills
- In‑depth understanding of safety rules and personnel protection standards
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- High level of reliability, integrity, accuracy, and sound judgment
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- High technical understanding of medical device manufacturing
- Strong analytical thinking skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, ERP systems, and eQMS software
Preferred Qualifications that Drive You Forward
- External training as a Quality Manager
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
- Experience with test method validation, change management, or advanced quality systems
- Familiarity with continuous improvement frameworks and project management tools
