The Montana site of Lubrizol is a leading medical device manufacturing facility. We create custom medical devices through silicone fabrication from our ISO 13485 certified facilities. Our products consist of silicone tissue expanders, sheeting, patches, and other silicone medical devices. We take pride in the quality of our products and maintain quality staff on our team.

We have several ISO 7 and ISO 8 certified clean rooms within our campus. Our controlled environment allow for multiple line operations to occur efficiently without compromising on quality.

 

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to provide technical support to manufacturing, develop processes and safe manufacturing concepts, and manage assigned projects.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Provides technical assistance and engineering support to the manufacturing floor, to ensure safe and timely delivery of product while meeting customer expectations on cost and quality.
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement through process development, addressing existing manufacturing issues and implementing data analytics tools.
  • Designs and build efficient manufacturing tooling, fixtures, process aids and equipment.
  • Supports flawless launch activities in project meetings, product and process reviews, process FMEA, and validation plans with cross-functional team.
  • Provides technical support to Quality Assurance to meet customer expectations for quality.
  • Writes, reviews, and executes validation and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) protocols for equipment, processes, and products. 
  • Completes projects, report status, and document results in an efficient manner.  Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others accurately informed concerning work progress, including identifying present and future problems and solutions.  
  • Creates manufacturing process documentation, to include drawings, manufacturing procedures, operator work instructions, flowcharts and troubleshooting guides.
  • Utilizes good verbal and written communication skills to report project status to team members and Management, productively interface with customers and suppliers, and document lessons learned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical field
  • Preferred experience in manufacturing and/or medical device industry, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of root cause analysis, design of experiments, statistical analysis, problem solving techniques and/or other data-driven skill sets.
  • Solid modeling experience using SolidWorks (or similar CAD/design software).

Lubrizol Montana is located in the heart of the Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana, within Ravalli County. Our location is also a short distance from Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park.  We have two locations within the Bitterroot Valley. Our primary location is just south of Victor and the second site is located in Hamilton, Montana
