      ROLE Summary:

 

Role will meet site’s statutory requirement of safety officer.

The purpose of the role is to lead all the Occupational Safety and Risk mitigation efforts of the site.

Role will manage statutory compliance related to factories act and rules. Role will drive, execute, and manage all activities required for sites’ safety compliance.

The purpose of this role is to drive HSE programs to achieve corporate goal “Zero error, Zero Harm.”

Lead execution – implementation of all programs related to Occupational Safety, Health, Industrial Hygiene and maintaining Compliance.

The candidate will support sites Process Safety Management (PSM) programs in respect of Occupational safety.

The candidate will be responsible for above purposes at both Turbhe and Taloja sites.

Internal contacts:

  • Communication: Production, Maintenance, Laboratory, Projects, Admin,

Occupational Health Centre, Security and Environment.

  • Interface: Procurement
  • Corporate PSM team / Manager

External contacts:

DISH, MARG group, District Crisis center, Industry associations – Local and federal environmental authorities

 

       RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Support Design and develop all programs related to Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene and maintaining Compliance. Execute, rollout of these programs to meet effectiveness and the timeline.

Interacting with production and Engineering departments in identification of risks, take up risk prioritization, short term and long-term mitigation programs.

Take up independent / team incident investigation and action plan generation and execution.

Make detailed scheduling of agreed Safety programs, interact with related departments for roll out / implementation.

Monitor and execute the program. Review and re-align as needed to meet changing organization needs.

Work closely with production / maintenance team to identify, evaluate the process deviations and associated risks and suggest mitigation plans.

 

Support personnel training and awareness of employees and contractors..

 

Receive inputs from manager/supervisor on change in compliance (Statutory and Lubrizol Corporation) needs, review the existing set up and plan to address the changes with futuristic anticipation.

 

Continuously act as an independent safety auditor, identifying the risk (human and property) gaps. Lead site safety audit, safety talks, pre-job safety briefing and other such initiatives.

 

Lead contractor safety supervisor team in driving the site safety program.      

 

Lead and provide expertise in activities like, Job safety analysis (JSA), Prestart up Safety Reviews (PSSRI), work permit systems, non-routine job risk assessments, training, and awareness.

 

Lead incident / accident reporting, investigations, conclude RCA, CAPA for cause reason and execution. Generate, maintain, functional data and manage MIS for the site and Lubrizol corporate.

Candidate will advise procurement on safety perspective related to compliance and meeting the applicable standards. Manage service providers for the safety function.

 

Periodically review and update studies related to Hazardous area classification, Safety audit, Safety report, Notification of site under MSIHC requirements, Onsite / offsite emergency plan, MCLS study, ventilation surveys, etc.

 

Operate within agreed departmental Opex. Challenge and optimize the recommendations, action items and requirements (as outcome of PSM studies / HSES programs) from Capex perspective
