Role Summary:
The Central Engineering Stores incharge, provides overall direction of stores team members at the Turbhe Plant. The stores incharge oversees the work of the store officers to ensure safe and efficient operation of the plants spare equipment. Appraises performance, disciplines, and addresses complaints, and resolves problems with inventory..
Internal contacts:
- Communication: -Production, Projects, Maintenance, Laboratory, HSES.
External contacts: -
- Equipment suppliers / Vendors.
- Government officials like local municipal, rationing authorities, controller of explosives etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing Personnel
- Trains new and existing staff on effective inventory techniques and daily tasks.
- Conducts on-site inspections to evaluate and coach team members to ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Communicate and administer the plant safety and environmental programs and goals. Monitor awareness, attitudes, and results.
- Monitor productivity, motivating personnel to improve productivity as needed.
- Review each employee's work performance at regular intervals.
- Communicate the problems and needs of the departments' personnel to the Maintenance Manager.
- Coordinate between Maintenance and Production personnel.
- Communicate and administer company and plant policies, plans and priorities.
Managing Materials
- Plans layout of stores and other storage areas.
- Approves all inventory adjustments made by stores staff.
- Monitor quality and availability of inventory equipment.
- Monitor and control replacement of spare inventory equipment.
- Perform and manage cycle counts.
- Engages in daily tasks including process improvement, inventory control, controlling and monitoring goals.
General Administration
- Define departmental goals and generate a long-range plan around people, materials, equipment and costs.
- Monitor monthly expenditures compared to budget.
- Coordinate stores activities, and other related functions for the department.
- Communicate operational status, department needs, problems, opportunities, and priority status updates to Superintendent.
- Recommend and manage small projects as needed.
REQUIREMENTS (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engg., with knowledge of Inventory Management and relevant Engg stores supervisory experience of 7-10 years.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills; displays professionalism; experience with conflict resolution.
- Good organizational skills.
- High energy; positive attitude.
- Dependable, honest and trustworthy.
- Microsoft Office experience.
Considered A Plus:
- SAP experience or any other ERP environment.
- Previous experience supervising employees.
- Previous experience in warehouse management.
