The Estane Process Technology Engineer is accountable for perform new product scale-up from ideation through to commercialization, New products transition from R&D, through scale-up and out to the manufacturing plants in Asia Pacific. This role is part of the Estane Process Technology team.





  • Lead, execute and support TPU products development, products scale up, process capability improvements, and new raw material evaluation projects.
  • Collaborate with multifunctional project teams of scientists, engineers, account managers, and product management to deliver successful scale up on new and existing products.
  • Design, execute, analyze, and report (both written and verbal) on multiple, simultaneous complex projects within pilot plant and commercial scale manufacturing.
  • Coordinate and consult on new capital projects as needed.
  • Design experiments and analyze data from both the laboratory and pilot plant. 
  • Work with external tollers for scale up and development of new compounds and products.
  • Continuously improve processes and capabilities by enhancing workflow and challenging the status quo for more efficient product scale up, operations, and quick customer response.
  • Comply with all applicable internal and external Lubrizol HSE policies.




  • Education Background:
    • Bachelor's or higher-level degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical field.


  • Technical Skills:


    • Strong fundamental knowledge in chemical engineering principals with proven problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong project management skills utilizing stage-gate systems and job aids
    • Very strong “hands-on” mechanically and chemically oriented process-engineering skills.


    • Knowledge of unit operations and process/equipment calculations and design.
    • Knowledge of experimental design (DOE) and data analysis, using fundamental statistical techniques and statistical software.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to work with others at all levels of the organization in multiple sites globally.
    • Customer focused – responsive to the internal and external customers.
    • Creative thinker with a proven track record of learning from both successes and failures.
    • Computer competency and the ability to quickly learn various software.
    • Excellent English both in speaking and writing.


  • Other Experiences Preferred:
    • 2-5 years of process or manufacturing operations experience required
