Indirect Sourcing Manager, APAC

PURPOSE:

 

To manage the supply of indirect procurement (equipment, supply and services) for Lubrizol China. To serve the businesses or internal customers as appropriate to keep the company supplied at the best total value.

 

ACCOUNTABILITY:

 

Accountable for indirect purchase (equipment, supply and services) for Lubrizol, to carry out strategic sourcing initiatives based on category management, and to ensure that the company’s operational needs are met, considering price, quality, service, delivery, and to ensure continuity of supply for indirect materials and service.
 

RESPONSIBILITY

 

  • To establish category vision, strategy and roadmap
  • Conduct spend & market analysis to develop supply market strategies and/or to leverage at country or regional level
  • Utilize deep understanding of industry, supplier dynamics and market trends to determine sources.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define strategy landing process & vendor performance KPIs.
  • Supplier performance management at country or regional level
  • Create and model Total Cost of Ownership for categories and sourcing decisions to achieve cost reductions and supply reliability.
  • Centralized buyer who lead negotiation with supplier to establish contracts and costs for the category.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, Competencies:

 

 

  1. Education
  • BA/Post Graduate qualification or equivalent in supply chain, business administration, logistics, engineering, or other technical degree
  1. Experience
  • At least 5 years' experience in similar role within Multi-national company
  • Local and International indirect materials/service market and supplier knowledge with experience in leading project execution and strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Preferably with experience from a chemical manufacturing environment

  • Analytical Capability: Able to run performance statistic, analysis and look for optimization opportunities (Savings & Efficiency).
  • Problem solving & Decision making: Ability to research, conduct situational analysis and identify problems, develop proposals or solutions independently and in collaboration with others
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate analytical findings/recommendations /models to all level of stakeholders to get their consensus or alignment.
  • Adaptability: Responds appropriately to new demands, priorities, or changes in direction when necessary. Handles ambiguity and uncertainty calmly and effectively, continuing to move forward.
  • Planning: Ensures that plans for key initiatives identify and address risks and contingencies. Identifies and plans the key action steps required to accomplish team or work group objectives.
  • Execution: Continually identifies specific and effective opportunities to improve category management.
  • Building relationships: Develops and maintains connections with people in different functions and levels.
  • Proficient skills on MS office as Word, Excel, PPT etc.
  1. Language Skill:
  • Fluent in both written and oral Chinese and English language
