ROLE:

  • Execution of regional sourcing, evaluation, selection, determination of approved Raw Material (RM) vendors, and be responsible for the cost-effective procurement of RM done in collaboration with Global Category & Sourcing Manager(s).
  • Market Competitive Intelligence of RM (approximate costs to CPI competitors)
  • Regional contact for CPI Contract Manufacturing (CM) leaders & collaboration thereof
  • Ad hoc support of regional business needs with set-up of blending & product supply

     

       RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pursue opportunities and potential in Asia (primarily China) in collaboration with regional business team members; locate manufacturers and seek suppliers of RM to the Company’s production facilities;
  • Analysis, including new supplier evaluation and selection, create vendor profile, and maintain database for viable CPI Asia region suppliers (particularly in China)
  • Promote a Supplier Relationships Management (SRM) mindset with suppliers; negotiating & implement contracts / agreements; drive compliance; monitor and audit agreements;
  • Develop/forge successful partnership roles with key RM & CM suppliers and communicate Company needs and objectives and manage the competitiveness of cost;
  • Negotiate and identify innovative solutions and mitigate the risks of price, quality, service levels, reliability-of-supply, and lead-time, and deliver business goals through negotiation of unit price, rebates & true-ups, hedge, material substitutions, and/or process improvements;
  • Maintain & Analyze purchased raw material master data in the SAP system (PIR) that enables efficient order and payment, done in collaboration with LZ Transactional resources;
  • Ensure procurement practices are duly updated and meet the Company policies and ensure procedures are adhered to and in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and all legislations and/or regulations;
  • Set up, track, review, and timely report sourcing trends & issues, budgets, savings, vendor performance, results of bidding, negotiations, and competitive insights;
  • A working partner with CPI Asia Commercial, Supply Planning, and Customer Service Teams as well as being pseudo integrated with Lubrizol Asia Procurement.

   

 

       REQUIREMENTS (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):

 

        Education:

  • University degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred) or Supply Chain Management

     

       Experience:

  • 7-12 year experience with multinational chemical company in engineering and commercial, preferably with procurement analysis capabilities demonstrated in vendor evaluation & selection, pricing methods, market price & cost modeling, contract reviews, commodity research methodology, and reporting.  
  • Operating experience with SAP preferred.
