As Process Control Engineer (m/f/d), you will be part of a team of engineers and other support professionals that will define and drive operational excellence and cybersecurity standards and practices governing installation and operation of industrial control system (ICS) technologies throughout Lubrizol’s 60 global manufacturing facilities. This is an exciting time to join our team and we’re looking for a candidate who has a strong drive for success, is comfortable in a rapidly changing environment and can operate independently and as part of a global team.


Supporting operations in Europe the position can be located in France, Belgium, the UK and Spain with the option for home office.


Essential Responsibilities


  • Design, implement, improve/modify, and provide ongoing technical support of ICS technologies across a number of platforms (e.g., DCS, PLC, SIS, historian interface, etc.) and vendors (Emerson, ABB, Rockwell, etc.).
  • Support site automation systems including activities such as troubleshooting, programming, preventative maintenance, back-ups, systems integration, and future planning.
  • Develop and maintain detailed inventories of control system technologies (hardware and software assets) and ensure such assets’ systems are deployed and maintained in accordance with corporate standards and policies to reduce cybersecurity risk.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of systems standards, control systems network architecture, and process control strategies to batch and continuous manufacturing equipment.
  • Interface with local facility Automation Managers, Plant Process Control Engineers, Operations and Maintenance personnel with a focus on providing support and building trusted long-term relationships.
  • Ensure technology service providers and other third parties are delivering services and work product in accordance with Lubrizol’s operating ICS and cybersecurity standards.
  • Participate in the development of policies, standards, and practices, and conduct periodic assessments of compliance.


Qualifications & Experience


  • Formal training or education in Mechanical, Chemical, Computer or Electrical Engineering.  
  • 3+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting secure ICS solutions in critical infrastructure and/or manufacturing sectors (ex: power and utilities, oil & gas, chemical, and consumer products manufacturing).
  • 3+ years of experience of ICS cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, exploits and remediation actions and practices necessary to secure a broad range of technologies.
  • Experience with DCS and PLC platforms such as (Emerson DeltaV, ABB, Rockwell, Siemens, other, etc.) is a strong plus.
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following: ISO 27001, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-82, NIST CSF.
  • Fluent in English
