The Chemtool Maintenance Planner/Scheduler/Clerk will be responsible for planning and scheduling all non-emergency maintenance work. As a planner this individual will develop job plans for all maintenance notifications detailing manpower, task durations, supporting crafts, parts and materials, and equipment needed to complete craft actives. As a scheduler this individual will create daily/weekly Maintenance schedules for the Maintenance Department. As a clerk this individual will perform clerical duties to support the Maintenance Department.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Evaluate all non-emergency maintenance notifications to create work orders with step by step instructions for completing the request.
  • Create the Daily and Weekly Maintenance Work Schedules for Maintenance Department.
  • Work with Maintenance staff in developing value added preventative maintenance plans and schedules for all equipment throughout the plant.
  • Responsible for both short & long-range maintenance planning. 
  • Help in stores stocking and deletion of parts for all equipment.
  • Gather, input, retrieve & maintain information in both the SAP computer & manual systems. Provide clerical duties, including filing, photocopying, faxing, posting of notices, and ordering of parts & supplies as directed.
  • Evaluates completed work orders for proper information of work performed, parts used, time on job, name of tech performing the job. Close out work orders in SAP.
  • Research availability & sources of purchase for emergency & critical spare parts & repair parts.
  • Prepare all purchase requisitions, coordinate & expedite approvals as required.
  • Maintain all files & inventory records of all orders placed & received. Assist in keeping record of part inventory levels.
  • Help in stores stocking & deletion of parts for any & all equipment associated with productions.

Education / Certification

  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional education such as a 2 year Technical degree is a plus.

Experience and Skills

 

  • Strong maintenance background in the crafts being supported
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in the related craft/field
  • 0 to 3 years of experience planning and scheduling maintenance work recommended but not required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and outside vendors and contractors
  • Must be able to plan, organize, and manage multiple objectives and deadlines simultaneously
  • Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project a plus
  • Must be able to take direction/supervision & work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to perform general office work.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to use computer & related software programs to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Knowledge of office practices & procedures.
  • Skill in typing statistical tabulations accurately.
  • Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions & procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports & correspondence.
  • Ability to maintain complex records & to assemble & organize data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills combined with the ability to affect positive change
  • Must be detail-oriented, a self-starter and demonstrate the ability to prioritize while maintaining high levels of organization, productivity and versatility.
  • Experience in manufacturing and ERP preferred, SAP is a plus

 

Supervisory Responsibility

 

This role does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities; however it is a highly visible role and leadership qualities are required in guiding the mechanics and outside contractors in policy and procedures.
