Lubrizol are looking to recruit a Pharma Account & Business Development Manager EMEA (m/f) with experience within life sciences, specifically in the pharmaceutical and/or dermatological markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, planning and executing the joint value creation relationship between the business and its regional direct strategic Pharma & Dermal Accounts.


The Account & Business Development Manager (m/f) will handle the array of businesses Lubrizol conducts in the region including polymeric excipient sales to both pharma and dermal companies, contract manufacturing for drug products and complex drug development services. The incumbent in this role will be engaged in a variety of activities that include strategic account management and planning, profit management, joint value creation and complex project management in a medical and/or pharmaceutical environment. Customer contact will be extensive.


Location: EMEA role, home office based preferably in Germany (Munich area), Belgium or UK.


What the role will include…


  • Foster a solutions-based, value selling culture with global contacts and regional account managers and customers.
  • Responsible for achieving targets for direct account sales revenue, volume, material margin and gross profit.
  • Manage the development and effectiveness of joint value creation through understanding of unmet needs and aligning with Lubrizol LifeSciences’ mission statement, organizational capabilities and priorities.
  • Develop, execute and communicate a direct account strategy, which delivers long term year on year growth.
  • Develop a strong and positive reputation at the strategic accounts within the Pharmaceutical and Dermal market, through relationship management with key high level and multifunctional contacts.
  • Continue to deliver and co lead innovation projects for next generation product design.
  • Assess/optimize channels to market.
  • Regular communication to team members, internal partners and business management regarding business development, competition activity and market trends.


We’re looking for someone who has….


  • Min Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, or pharmacology from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience, at least 3-5 years of specific industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of the life sciences market, specifically in pharmaceutical and/or dermatological
  • Experience in managing large and complex multi-regional accounts
  • Strong skills in implementing new product, solution, technology and value selling programs
  • Willingness and ability to travel more than 50% of the time
  • Demonstrated ability to think and act both tactically and strategically
  • Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities and strong drive for results
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and develop relationships with internal partners including customer service, supply chain, platform, marketing and research and development.
