To support and drive the growth strategy of the Thermoplastic Polyurethanes business we are looking for an Account Manager (m/f/d) for the DACH region. This position will be homebased.



You will manage assigned customer accounts as well as develop new accounts and market segments for our TPU business within the DACH region. Your focus will be on personal sales targets, new business development, maintaining customer relationships, and offering solutions to specific customers’ problems to help them be successful.


Essential Job Functions

  • Lead the sales and market development activities to promote growth of the business for assigned accounts and territories
  • Substantially increase our market share in a defined growth area in the DACH region within the next 2-3 years
  • Foster and grow the appropriate business relationships
  • Develop and implement sales plans at territory and account level that are well aligned with the business strategy
  • Engage closely with Marketing to identify and evaluate new, high impact market opportunities
  • Develop, negotiate and close sales contracts and agreements
  • Share market insights, trends and opportunities internally by proper reporting and forecasting
  • Represent Lubrizol at trade shows, conferences, and at local industry association and regional marketing meetings and build an industry network - also via digital means
  • Develop and manage annual territory budget


Required Skills, Qualifications, Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, polymer or mechanical engineering, chemistry or equivalent
  • Track record of sales growth and successful account development
  • A minimum 3-5 years of experience in the performance plastics industry (thermoplastic elastomers is a plus) 
  • Demonstrated successes in implementing new product, solution, technology and value selling programs
  • Very good negotiation, communication and presentation skills
  • Self-starter with a desire and ability to develop markets
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities and a strong drive for results
  • Willing and able to travel 50% of the time
  • Fluent written and spoken in English and German
