Position Summary

The Logistics Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, contracting, and managing a portfolio of logistics services across the region, including transportation, warehousing, and customs brokers. Reporting to the LATAM Head of Procurement, this role is critical to ensuring cost-effective, reliable, and resilient logistics operations aligned with Lubrizol’s strategic and operational goals.

The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, strong engagement with logistics service providers, and delivery of value through strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, supplier performance management, and market intelligence. This is a hybrid role, open to candidates based in either the Rio de Janeiro (Centro) or São Paulo (Parque da Cidade) offices.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for logistics categories, including freight (road, ocean, air), warehousing, and customs brokerage services.
• Build and manage relationships with regional and global logistics service providers, acting as a representative of the Lubrizol brand.
• Support cross-functional business needs through close collaboration with logistics, supply chain, operations, finance, and quality teams.
• Analyze logistics market trends, cost drivers, and risk factors to support business continuity planning and category strategy development.
• Lead negotiations, implement logistics contracts, and ensure compliance with company policies, service level agreements (SLAs), and regional regulations.
• Identify and deliver cost optimization opportunities while maintaining required service levels, safety, and operational performance.
• Track key performance indicators and contribute to procurement reporting, dashboards, and service provider performance reviews.

 

Desired Background and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field. MBA is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, with strong exposure to logistics sourcing or transportation and customs management, preferably in a manufacturing or chemical industry environment.
• Solid understanding of logistics cost structures, service models, customs brokerage processes, and contract management.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English; Spanish is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
• Demonstrated sense of ownership, integrity, and strong customer and service orientation.
