DeltaV System Administrator 

Job Summary:

  • The DeltaV System Administrator is responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of the Painesville facility DeltaV system.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for assuring reliability of the Painesville Plant DeltaV system. In addition, assure that the Plant DeltaV system maintains corporate cybersecurity compliance.
  • Monitor the health of the facility DeltaV system and address issues as required.
  • Experience with installation and use of DeltaV hardware including controllers, I/O, HMI workstations, system servers, and networking equipment.
  • Ability to update and maintain Microsoft-based computing equipment for process control applications. Experience system administering antivirus and system backup applications.
  • Develop and maintain procedures to effectively use DeltaV at the plant. Monitor the effectiveness of the procedures update them as required.
  • Facilitate development and commissioning of facility control system configuration, graphics, and simulation. If required, arrange for additional resources to support the control system configuration and related work.
  • Assess DeltaV control system hardware and licensing needs for the facility DeltaV system. If additional hardware or licensing is required, advise project teams of capital and resource requirements.
  • Evaluate DeltaV version upgrades, new control system hardware and control system software for potential use at the facility.
  • Maintain and audit the plant standards and practices for the implementation of DeltaV throughout the plant. Support use of the plant’s DeltaV control module and graphic standards.
  • Manage the use of DeltaV Testbed.
  • Provide DeltaV application technical support other project engineers, area process engineers, maintenance, and environmental and safety groups.
  • Support control system scoping and configuration needs as requested.
  • Scope and complete capital projects and related control system upgrades, as assigned.


Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 5 years of DeltaV system project and/or system maintenance experience in the specialty chemical industry.
  • Experience scoping and implementing DCS-based control and instrumentation capital projects.
  • Experience configuring DeltaV control strategies and operating graphics including DeltaV batch applications
  • Knowledegable of codes and standards that apply to the engineering discipline, including ISA standards, NFPA, and OSHA.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and/or similar programs.


Considered a Plus:

  • Good process engineering aptitude.
  • Process Instrumentation application experience
  • Experience using OSI PI Historian.
  • Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance and Procurement functionality
  • Experience with Safety Instrumented System design, verification and validation.


Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office work; occasional field work. Willing/able to work in plant (inclement weather) as required.
  • Willing and able to work off-hours and weekends as required.
  • Ability to wear PPE as required.
