MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

The role is focused on the evaluation of the performance aspects of Lubrizol technologies in Home Care products such as laundry and automatic dishwashing detergents.  The role, based at the Mostyn site, is for a fixed term 12 month contract and involves the following key aspects:

 

OUTLINE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

TECHNICAL ASPECTS:

 

  • The measurement and evaluation of performance aspects of products to understand the value of the technology.
  • Role involves using equipment such as Tergotometers, Phabrometers and Spectroflash colour measurement.
  • Perform laboratory work accurately, promptly and precisely and recommend further work and project changes as required.
  • To take responsibility for the delivery of project work to time and to a high quality​​​​
  • Lead/Assist in internal HSE audits and perform laboratory HSE and quality checks
  • Develop new methodologies as required to enable assessment and evaluation of new technical propositions and new materials.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

 

  • Minimum HNC qualification, ideally a degree in a Chemistry related area
  • Be trained in Continuous Improvement skills/techniques, or a knowledge of statistical analysis
  • Computer skills (PPMP, Microsoft word, excel and powerpoint) 
  • Experience within the performance evaluation area would be beneficial

 

The Mostyn site is located in a small village in Flintshire, North Wales lying on the estuary of the River Dee.  This beautiful Welsh Border county has a countryside and coast enriched by a fascinating history with castles dating back to the 13th century and Abbey churches from the 7th century.  Excellent road and rail links make it easily accessible, 27 miles from the historic Roman city of Chester with Liverpool and Manchester within a 1 to 1.5 hours’ drive.
