To provide technical support predominantly within the Application areas for Warwick Chemicals and, in addition, support other Departments in the technical field when the need arises.  The role involves the following key aspects:





  • Receive training and be fully conversant with the standard procedures and methods employed within the Applications Department Area
  • Maintain and develop awareness of current technology within the technical area.
  • Perform laboratory work accurately, promptly and precisely as directed by the line Supervisor and recommend further work and project changes as required.
  • To take responsibility for the delivery of project work to time and to a high quality.
  • To be able to follow standard routine procedures accurately.
  • Under supervision commission new laboratory equipment as required.
  • Carry out laboratory work to develop and improve existing processes as directed by the line Supervisor.
  • Undertake technical support work for other Departments within the Company as required which may necessitate the use of additional technical skills such as analytical skills.
  • Undertake trial work to scale up product developments as required.




  • Prepare a monthly report to record all technical work undertaken each month if required.
  • Deliver oral presentations when required.
  • Attend meetings both internally and externally if required.
  • Prepare action plans in order to carry out technical project work as required.
  • Prepare technical reports for circulation internally and externally to customers as required.
  • Record all laboratory work in laboratory note books following the standard departmental procedure.
  • Work with other team members to deliver project results efficiently and accurately as required




  • Organise own work program and work of subordinates if required so that work is completed to an agreed target date.
  • For aspects of on non-routine laboratory work or projects, refer to line Supervisor for clarification.
  • Assist with the development and training of new staff where required.




  • Ensure that all laboratory work is carried out in a safe manner in-line with Health & Safety, COSHH and GLP guidelines.
  • Ensure that all work at pilot and plant scale is carried out in a safe manner in-line with the Company’s guidelines for Health & Safety, Quality & the environment, COSHH guidelines etc if this technical area is applicable to the role
  • To ensure all Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments etc are up to date adhered to and are relevant
  • Co-ordinate the purchase of raw materials, equipment and service contracts as required to ensure safe efficient operation of the laboratory.
  • Report any equipment faults immediately and ensure that repairs are suitably carried out.
  • To ensure all training records for self are up to date
  • To carry out any ad hoc duties as and when required by the line Supervisor




Minimum ONC/HNC qualification in technical area


Be trained in Orgex skills/techniques, as applicable for the role


Develop computer skills (Microsoft word, excel and powerpoint) to the level required for the role
