  • Lead Americas External POE (Polyol Ester Lubricant) Manufacturing, where EM POE are a primary source of CPI product globally.
  • Identify & implement Fair and Fact-Based Supplier Relationships Management (SRM).
  • Collaboration with Global LZ RM Sourcing and other EM SMEs toward UOI Goals & Gaps.
  • Future Potential:   Supervision of USA based CPI Hard Goods and non-POE EM role(s).





  • Learn CPI N. & S. Americas POE External Manufacturing (EM), including POE Purchase-for-Resale (PFR), in collaboration & leveraging with EUR/APAC and non-POE EM leaders.  Key attributes of the role include leadership of:
    • Learn POE engineering, operational, and other supply execution detail, with objective in 2-3 years to be the overall global leader of CPI POE EM.
    • Contract implementation & execution, including follow-up and financial resolutions.
    • Negotiation of Contract Amendments and own Operations Plan definition & changes.
    • Management of Ops requirements for raw materials (RM) supply in Buy/Sell Model CM.
    • Product Mix optimization (cross region and with PFR and Internal LZ production assets),
    • RM collaboration with LZ Global RM Sourcing Mgrs & EM Procurement/Ops Leaders.
    • Define & implement/manage LZ net PFR & EM pricing in SAP system (PIRs).
    • Focal point for review/resolution of non-payment status at N. & S. America EMs.
    • Assessment (and lead potential addition/deletion) of viable new Americas POE EMs.
    • Delegate to CPI non-POE EM and LZ focal points for Warehouse and Logistics matters.
    • Provide LZ oversight/input of engineering & design decisions at CPI’s EM in Americas.
  • EM Operational (Ops) oversight, plus POE Ops oversight for LZ POE assets in the USA
    • Lead scale-ups of new products or in use of new raw materials
    • Lead for LZ in design changes in RM & Product & Intermediates handling
    • Focal point for system set-up in collaboration with systems subject matter experts (SME)
  • Collaboration with global RM sourcing impacting POE production, including fully transitioning & management of RM supply to Buy/Sell model and providing key input to RM evaluation, selection, and determination of approval criteria for use at toll EMs.
  • Market Competitive Intelligence of POE suppliers (approximate costs & reliability-of-supply).
  • Co-lead & oversight of CPI Excel model for CPI RM purchases aligned rebates.
  • Ad hoc support of regional business needs and non-POE EM focal point with set-up of blending & product supply.






  • Pursue opportunities in North & South America in collaboration with regional business team members; locate manufacturers and seek/manage viable suppliers of toll EM and PFR.
  • Detailed analysis, including new supplier evaluation and selection, create vendor profile, and maintain database for viable CPI N. America region EM suppliers.
  • Promote a strong Supplier Relationships Management (SRM) mindset with suppliers; negotiating & implement contracts / agreements; drive compliance; monitor and audit.
  • Develop/forge successful SRM partnership roles with key EM suppliers and communicate LZ Company needs/objectives and manage the competitiveness of net/
  • Assure implementation of POE EM rebates and Capital Pay-off commitments for Americas.
  • Negotiate and identify innovative solutions and mitigate the risks of price, quality, service levels, reliability-of-supply, and lead-time, and deliver business goals through negotiation of unit price, rebates & true-ups, hedge, material substitutions, and/or process improvements.
  • Maintain & Analyze EM master data in the SAP system (PIR) that enables order & payment.
  • Ensure LZ Procurement and EM Ops practices are reflected in CPI EM agreements and meet the Company policies, ensure procedures are adhered to and in compliance with LZ HSES and Manufacturing minimum standards, Sarbanes-Oxley, and all and/or regulations.
  • Set up, track, review, and timely report sourcing trends & issues, cost changes, budgets, savings, vendor performance, results of bidding, negotiations, and competitive insights.
  • A working partner with CPI Commercial, Supply Planning, and Customer Service Teams as well as being pseudo integrated with Lubrizol North America Procurement (Custom MFG).
  • Learn, build & co-own the CPI POE Technology Share Point (Technology Packs, Tech Transfer, and Operational Technology documenting sustainable EM Operating Disciple).




  • University degree in preferable in Chemical Engineering, could be Biochemical or Mechanical engineering with applicable experience & skillsets.



  • 12-20 year experience with multinational chemical company in engineering and commercial, preferably with procurement and/or commercial analysis capabilities demonstrated in vendor evaluation & selection, market analysis & detailed cost modeling, contract reviews, commodity research methodology, and reporting.  
  • Strong chemical manufacturing experience (engineering and operations mgmt)
  • Operating experience with SAP preferred, or willingness to quickly learn
