Lubrizol Advanced Materials is seeking an Account Manager to serve its Coatings business segment and grow our market. This Account Manager will be responsible for representing our product offering within this territory, focusing on product-specific sales targets, new business development, troubleshooting customer requests, and establishing/building long-term relationships with current customers, OEMs, and national and local accounts.

 

What you will do:

  • Lead the sales and market development activities to promote growth of the business for assigned accounts and territories.

  • Manage the entire sales process from prospecting to closing.

  • Foster and grow the appropriate business relationships both internally and externally. 

  • Develop and implement aggressive sales plans at the territory and account level.

  • Effectively communicate with internal R&D, Marketing, and Operations group.

  • Develop, negotiate and close sales contracts and agreements.

  • Create and implement account plans that are well aligned with the business strategy.

  • Comply with administrative requirements (call reports, forecasting, expense reports, etc.).

  • Represent Lubrizol at trade shows, conferences, and at local industry association, demand planning, and regional marketing meetings.

  • Engage closely with Marketing to identify and evaluate new, high value opportunities.

  • Develop and manage annual territory budget.

  • Manage lead distributor partner(s) where applicable.

  • Identify and evaluate market opportunities to be able to enter new and growing applications, identify and support the launch of new products.  

 

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field OR Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of professional technical sales experience.

  • Strong knowledge of the coating industry OR demonstrated technical aptitude.

  • Willing and able to travel 50% of the time.

  • Tactical and strategic thinking and business acumen skills.

  • Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal abilities and a strong drive for results.

  • Demonstrated successes in implementing new product, solution, technology and value selling programs.
