DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Provide guidance on all safety-related issues in chemical plant environment.
  • Participate in development and implementation of plant safety systems including but not limited to:

        -accident/incident prevention systems.

        -safety training programs.

        -policies and procedures.

  • Lead and direct in plant HSES committee
  • Participate and provide leadership in plant emergency response systems
  • Coordinate plant waste management systems (hazardous and non-hazardous) as required by regulation and permits
  • Coordinate plant wastewater management systems (industrial and storm water) as required by regulation and permits
  • Represent facility in community outreach and related-external organizations
  • Provide leadership to support plant with the objective of improving all plant processes

 

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  •   Three to five years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
  •   B.S. in safety engineering, safety leadership or a related field strongly preferred
  •   Proven leadership skills.
  •   Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  •   Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with individuals at all organizational levels.
  •   Occasional travel required.

 

CONSIDERED A PLUS:

 

  •   Experience in a PSM-regulated (OSHA 1910.119) facility
