PURPOSE/ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

 

Provide resource to the facility for troubleshooting on, installation of and maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment within the Louisville Plant

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Conduit layout, bending and installation
  • Intrinsically safe wiring in hazardous locations.
  • Installation, troubleshooting and repair of single and 3-phase motors
  • Application of 2008 NEC
  • Interpretation of wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Installation and troubleshooting of control circuits
  • Installation, troubleshooting and repair of VFD’s & PLC’s
  • Maintenance on 575 volt electrical installation and troubleshooting
  • Installation, troubleshooting and repair of UPS and generator systems
  • Maintenance on substations and switch gear
  • Work with Vendors and Suppliers to specify and procure parts or replacements.
  • Participate as defined by plant emergency response procedures in the role of emergency responder (24-hour technician trained)
  • It is required that all activities will be performed in accordance with established safety and environmental control requirements and within the framework of the plant’s Responsible Care® Management System (RCMS).  The Electrician should participate in RCMS-related activities and provide input on ways to improve the system.
  • It is further expected that the Electrician will play an active role in Departmental efforts to improve the working environment to ensure the safety and health of all employees.  He/she should always demonstrate, by word and actions, a high level of commitment to these concerns.
  • Required to maintain proficiency in current electrical technology and trade methods while demonstrating quality workmanship
  • Apply technical, engineering and experience knowledge to problems involving process design as well as materials and usage efficiencies.  (See Key Results Areas for specific troubleshooting requirements.)

 

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 or more years of experience in the industrial electrical field (See Key Results Areas for specific skill requirements)
  • Strong safety record and work habits
  • Able to maintain a physically strenuous routine (climbing, pushing, pulling and lifting heavy objects)
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude – efficient problem-solving skills
    Ability to train and coach coworkers
  • Solid computer skills – Microsoft Office and SAP
