The Regional Technical Manager is responsible to provide technical leadership to the region; formulate and execute regional technical strategy; lead the technical team to deliver results from key projects and develop organizational capabilities, ultimately to drive profitability and sustainable growth for Beauty and Home Care businesses in APAC.  


Strategy Development and Implementation 
•    Formulate, refine and execute regional product development, application research and technical service strategies   
•    Prioritize technical resources and budget in alignment with global and regional business strategy

Provide Leadership
•    Manage, lead and develop the technical team towards high effectiveness and operation excellence
•    Provide technical leadership to regional sales and marketing teams to execute key growth initiatives & projects

Deliver Results
•    Overall responsible for all regional product development, application research and technical service projects, ensure results are delivered in due time 
•    Establish strong connection with the global R&D to ensure alignment on focus, timely information exchange and collaboration  
•    Work closely with Songjiang pilot-line and manufacturing team to ensure the progress and delivery of technical transfer and local development projects
•    Collaborate with key stakeholders from regional and global business, R&D and operation to initiate and drive regional innovation and development projects to fuel long term business growth 
•    Scout regional open innovation partners, initiative and progress external collaborative projects

Sales Support
•    Support the regional sales and marketing teams for key customer engagement
•    Represent and promote the business at all the appropriate technical/business meetings
•    Ensure timely and appropriate technical training of sales and marketing teams and laboratory staff

Laboratory Management
•    Ensure that safe working practices are adhered to and maintained at all times 
•    Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of products, formulations, process and other know-how 
•    Prepare expenditure for the departmental annual budget and make recommendations for capital items

REQUIREMENTS (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):

•    Doctor degree in chemistry or chemical engineering
•    Minimum 10 years’ experience from specialty chemical industry in a technical leadership role
•    Experience in the personal care industry highly preferred
•    Experience in polymer, formulation, process and product development highly preferred
•    Strong leadership and interpersonal skills in order to drive results through cross functional environments
•    Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-culture, matrix organization 
•    Commercial acumen, able to link technologies and products with consumer and customer needs, market trend and marketing value proposition 
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Expected travel approximately 30%
