The Technician supports the execution and maintenance of safe and reliable plant operations by assisting with process units, material transfer and utilities operations at plant sites, as well as basic frontline maintenance activities, under close supervision and in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). He/ She assists with process sampling and basic testing to ensure that the product quality is within customers’ requirements.

 

The Technician complies with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) and Lubrizol Management System (LMS) requirements by applying safe work procedures and risk control measures to ensure work activities are carried out safely. He/ She is a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and he supports continuous improvement projects in plants.

 

The Technician usually works on single or rotating shift, in a team, and in the field. He/ She is a good team player and is able to interact effectively with others.

 

Job description:

 

  • Carry out blending process operations, perform filling of blended products into drums and isotainers in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Carry out chemical additives transfer between bulk packages (tank farm storage tanks, marine vessel bulk) and smaller packages (isotainers, IBCs and drums).
  • Control inventory (physical & documentary aspect), including tank gauging & sampling.
  • Conduct line pigging and equipment flushing during batch changeover and handle regular start up, shutdown and commissioning of critical process equipment.
  • Manage isotainer and storage tank heating in a safe manner.
  • Operate plant air compressor, steam boilers, hot oil furnace, pumps, heat exchangers, rotary equipment etc. in a safe manner.
  • Carry out minor maintenance work, 5S improvement projects and energy conservation initiatives.
  • Adhere to all in house safety, security, industrial hygiene standards and HSES & Quality regulations.
  • Able to handle forklift equipment, training will be provided.
  • Perform any other production duties assigned by the Operations Superintendent.

 

Requirements: 

 

  • Minimum NITEC in any Engineering or Technical field.
  • Minimum experience equivalent to 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior technical experience in chemical company or prior working experience in a lubricant blending company would be an advantage.
  • Able to perform night duty when required.
  • Good technical skills in handling rotary equipment & pipeline operations.
  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, etc.
