Lubrizol is excited to bring a new Business Analyst for Commercial Applications to join our growing IT organization. In this role, you would gather, evaluate, and define requirements for in-house or purchased solutions, and create collaboration between stakeholders and technical IT teams to deliver sustainable secure IT solutions which can be leveraged globally. This would be a new position at Lubrizol, so you would have the ability to help define this role and build the structure.  Ideally, this position will be based at our Global Headquarters in Wickliffe, OH, or our Deerpark, TX facility. This role would follow a hybrid working model. 

 

What you will do:

  • Acquire and provide domain-specific knowledge and expertise of work processes and applications/products
  • Understand and assess business problems and opportunities and develop/define scope
  • Utilize formal facilitation skills to lead discussions and/or workshops
  • Write functional and non-functional requirements specifications (use cases, user stories, epics, data requirements and interface details) as well as technical requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic product roadmap
  • Articulate business needs and requirements into functional specifications to be used by development teams to ensure designs and solutions meet business requirements
  • Utilize analytics tools and techniques (ex: decomposition, progressive elaboration, dependency analysis, gap analysis)
  • Deliver Process Models (Event models, Process models, Swimlane Diagrams, Use Case Diagrams, Logical data flows, Object models, Class models) to support functional specifications
  • Utilize tools, policies, procedures for requirements management, change management and traceability
  • Evaluate alternative solutions and capabilities
  • Serve as liaison between technical team and stakeholders for daily operations, as well as project needs
  • Analyze incoming requests and work with the business to obtain clarification of requested work
  • Assist Service Owner with production support issues and prioritize bugs within the backlog
  • Support communication lead, test lead and training lead as needed

 

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree:  Computer Science/Management Information Systems, Chemical, Industrial or Environmental Engineering, or Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a business analyst
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in domain knowledge and expertise
  • Strong facilitation, interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Strong communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of IT development methodologies, artifacts, and tasks
  • Understanding of enterprise and domain architecture and terminology

  • Formal BA Certification, such as PMI-PBASM, CBAP, or CFLBA
  • Experience using Visio or other documentation tools
  • Experience with ServiceNow!
  • Experience with DevOps
  • Experience with Agile framework and methodology
