The Role:
You will be working for a multinational chemical manufacturer within a small engineering team as a multi skilled maintenance engineer. You will schedule, execute, and record both planned preventative routine maintenance and breakdown maintenance activities. As the maintenance engineer you be involved in the scoping and execution of capital projects, in continuous improvement initiatives and the supervision of contractors when on site. This is a days-based role.
This is a broad role with plenty of scope for development. We are willing to put the time and effort into right candidate with both internal and external training to advance them in their role. The role would ideally suit an electrically biased engineer, but we are open to mechanical or control biased also.
Key responsibilities
- To provide maintenance of the electrical/control systems and mechanical hardware to ensure continued optimum operation of the plant.
- Understand HSEQ Standards & requirements. Ensuring safe working systems and practices are followed using permit to work and lock out tag out systems
- Ensuring maintenance work is accurately recorded
- Involvement in the scope and execution of capital projects
- Facilities maintenance
- Involvement in continuous improvement initiatives
- Effective communication at all levels
Expereince and Qualifications
- Ideally apprentice trained in electrical/control engineering (multiskilled i.e. mechanical knowledge would advantageous)
- Basic mechanical fitting – making and breaking joints, remove/replace pumps/valves etc
- HNC, ONC, City and guilds in relevant engineering subject or can demonstrate equivalent knowledge/experience
- Previous experience of working in chemical/pharmaceutical manufacturing or similar process manufacturing environment
- City & Guilds CG2395, CG2382 would be advantageous but not essential
- COMPEX units 1 to 6. This would be advantageous but not essential
- Fault finding and diagnostic problem solving
