Account Manager

 

Job Mission

  • This role is to develop and maintain effective and service-oriented relationships with targeted customers to develop profitable business.  He/she needs to work with internal and external teams to provide valued products and services to customers and achieve sustainable sales results.
  • The Account Manager represents a wide range of Lubrizol products and services to assigned customers while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met.  

 

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel external and internal to Lubrizol.
  • Coordinate with internal business groups and functions (technology, product management, supply chain etc.) to provide high quality technical and logistic services;
  • Exceeds assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
  • Proactively leads a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel

 

Key Duties:

  • Manage a customer base (5-10 accounts) - building credibility and trust to position Lubrizol for sustainable, incremental revenue growth within the automotive, industrial, and consumer markets.
  • Proactively approach customers with the mind of “Challenging Status Quo”, to define customer needs, Lubrizol value propositions and scope cooperative initiatives;
  • Teach, Take Control, and Tailor Lubrizol solutions that are externally focused and align with customers KPI’s
  • Create Partnerships with key customers that are market leaders and can disrupt these market spaces
  •  

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, chemistry, engineering or related field.
  • Must have a strong technical aptitude – the ability to understand technical solutions and apply to changing market requirements
  • 5+ years of successful experience B2B selling in the chemical market preferred
  • Proven track record of year-over-year sales growth
  • Proactive and self-motivated with strong sense of ownership;
  • Self-driving and result oriented;
  • Good team player and self-learner
  • Is comfortable talking to a wide range of decision influencers
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Ability to work virtually and in an office setting
  • Willing and able to travel 30% (overnight) mainly in the US
  • High Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook and a CRM System
  • MBA a plus
