Role: Regulatory Chemical Compliance Student Placement


At Lubrizol, we have a growing student community in the UK with over 30 placements each year across a number of roles. As a student within the Product Safety and Compliance Department (PSCD), you will gain real work experience alongside a skilled group of professionals within one of the world’s premier speciality chemical companies. Using your scientific background and training to undertake real life projects for the PSCD provided to you by your supervisor or the EMEAI PSCD team.


What you will be doing

  • Using your knowledge of REACH to understand Lubrizol’s commitment to health, safety and environmental aspects of developmental chemistries
  • You will be responsible for ensuring timeliness of data/projects to performance metrics and internal customer requirements
  • Attending relevant meetings with members of both your team and the wider business
  • Creating and showcasing a technical poster for the Hazelwood Innovation Symposium
  • Presenting at the research and development technical joint talks towards the end of your placement


What you will need


  • You must be studying towards a science related degree involving a year in industry, achieving a 2:1 or above
  • You should have a C or above in A Level Math or Science
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in an office based team environment
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and appropriately manage priorities for self and global organisation
  • Detail orientated and results driven
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with computer relational databased and common business-related software programmes
  • Experienced in capturing, interpreting and manipulating data and databases
