Information Security SOC Analyst

Location: Hazelwood, Derbyshire

Lubrizol is looking to a recruit an Information Security SOC Analyst to join the team at the Hazelwood, Derbyshire offices.

 

As part of a global IT security team, the Information Security SOC Analyst is accountable for prompt and reliable security monitoring and response services to enable business productivity. 

 

In this role, the successful candidate will: -

 

  • Monitor computer networks and respond to potential incidents as may be identified by security tools and platforms (e.g. SIEM, firewall, EDR, CASB, DLP, cloud), user-submitted security concerns (e.g. suspicious email submitted for review) or threat intelligence sources (e.g. ISAC-provided information, etc.)
  • Execute defined incident response playbooks to investigate security breaches and other cyber security incidents.  This includes clear documentation of incident artifacts and business impacts/concerns 
  • Participate in the development and continual refinement of security group operating practices/processes, including incident response playbooks 
  • Participate in the selection and implementation of security tools 
  • Provide ongoing ownership for operational/administrative support of certain security tools (e.g. SIEM, DLP, EDR, web filtering) 
  • Work with larger Information Solutions (IS) department to perform tests, uncover and remediate security vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard
  • Work with IS to identify and implement best practices for IT security
  • Understand and evaluation cybersecurity trends and risks

 

To be successful in this role you will have:  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity / similar field, or equivilent
  • 3+ years working in a hands-on technical IT support role
  • Knowledge of networks 
  • Knowledge and experience with security access administration systems and processes
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Active Directory
  • Ability to resolve issues via undocumented methods via research and investigation 
  • Experience with SIEM, SOAR, CASB, E/XDR, DLP, internet/mail gateways and cloud security tools
