We are looking to recruit two Account Managers to join the European Industrial Sales team. We ideally search for an experienced candidate (at least 5 to 10 years of relevant experience). The second vacancy may be offered to a less experienced talent with approx. 2 to 3 years of experience. The successful candidates will take responsibility for Lubrizol’s profitability by executing Product Line strategies and managing key defend/grow opportunities across several international accounts based in Germany and other European countries. They will maintain and enhance the value that Lubrizol brings to its customer relationships by leading and utilising the support of Key Lubrizol Product Management Group and service colleagues across the organisation, as well as utilising an enhanced market knowledge and deep customer understanding. Ideally, they will possess some knowledge of Value and Challenger sales techniques.


In this role, the successful candidate will:  

  • Execute business strategy for selected market segments and targeted accounts;
  • Grow and manage current key direct accounts;
  • Identify core growth accounts and build exceptional customer relationships;
  • Support growth initiatives for the business and introduction of new products;
  • Develop, negotiate, and close sales contracts and agreements;
  • Communicate well throughout the organization;
  • Comply timely and accurately with administrative requirements, such as call reports, sales forecasting and expense reports;
  • Provide the market information and survey of related industry and its trend for company further develop.


To be successful you will need:   

  • A University degree, preferably in Chemical or Technical;
  • Several years of direct technical/specialty chemical sales experience;
  • Strong technical understanding of specialty chemicals and polymers, and their applications. Ideally experience with Metal Working Fluids and/or Greases;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Lubrizol, its products and service offerings preferred;
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills;
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Tools, a CRM tool (ideally Microsoft Dynamics) and basic knowledge of SAP;
  • Fluency in GERMAN and ENGLISH a must (spoken and written);
  • Willing to travel.


Possibility to work from our Hamburg facility or partially/fully home-based in Germany.
