Summary of Responsibilities

The Lipofoods Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, evaluating and managing new product portfolio, co-branding and licensing opportunities and potential acquisitions for the functional food, nutraceutical, beauty and wellness markets

The Business Development Manager will participate in the business unit’s strategic plan. She/he will contribute to establish the company as a leader and being a key player in the aforementioned market segments in the minerals, plant sterols, botanicals, actives and delivery systems fields by assisting our customers in understanding and help them to launch advanced product concepts in the market

 

Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

 

In this position you will be responsible for and have the ability to:

 

  • Introduce new concepts and products into the market
  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategic account plans
  • Establish and lead collaborative projects with key customers
  • Be the active communication link between customers, sales, marketing and R&D for non routine technical advice, questions and specific projects
  • Prepare and perform product presentations at seminars/trainings/fairs (recurrent and particular events)
  • Maintain awareness of market trends/competition, a.o. through specialized publications and attendance to seminars/fairs.
  • Build a business intelligence tool platform
  • Travel internationally as and when required for customer visits, internal/external meetings etc.
  • Acquire a deep understanding of industry market trends to aid the long-term strategy development, including assisting business leaders in market/competitive analysis, development of strategic goals, financial goals, etc.
  • Work with external customers and other internal businesses to develop strategic plans, including analyzing and summarizing input from commercial and technology functions, and assessing market trends.
  • Find and develop partnerships that are consistent with the BU’s strategy, including utilizing existing relationships to uncover new partnerships.
  • Identify and manage all new partnership, secrecy, joint development and technology licensing or exchange agreements.

     

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial or technology experience in the Food and/or Nutraceutical markets.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or Food Science and Technology.
  • Understanding of markets, strategies, and products/services at the strategic level.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret commercial and technical data and then communicate conclusions and recommendations (concisely).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong process and project management skills.
  • Interest for international and global food and beauty businesses
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 30% - 40%, domestic and international.
