This position is hybrid and based in any place in Europe where we have facilities to welcome you on board. (mainly France, Spain, Belgium or Germany).
OVERVIEW
Responsible for setting priorities, coordinating implementation, and providing their own expertise to deploy the Lubrizol HSES policy across Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India (EMEAI) sites, for Lubrizol Additives and Lubrizol Advanced Material sites (approximately 25 sites).
Ensure compliance with applicable regional regulations and corporate standards regarding environment, transportation of dangerous goods, and sustainability. Act as a subject matter expert, advising and supporting and challenging EMEAI sites.
Coordinate the sustainability development plan in the Region, in accordance with Seveso regulations, Best Available Techniques, REACH and European Green Deal.
You will report to the EMEAI Safety, Sustainability and Continuous Improvement Director and you will manage relationships with external consultants, professional associations (France Chimie, CEFIC, university chairs …) among others.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides support / expertise to EMEAI sites in the implementation of corporate and regional programs to achieve the overarching goal of regulatory compliance and continuous improvement, regarding the areas of environment, transportation of dangerous goods, and sustainability. You will be the single point of contact for sites on these topics.

Develops regional plans and supervises execution under the direction of the three EMEAI Regional EHS Managers while identifying the need for Subject Matter expert involvement in plant issues.

Member of the Lubrizol regulatory watch network tracks new applicable requirements and updates standards in their areas of expertise.

Advises process owners on ISO 14001 including Supply Chain and purchasing. Ensure the availability and relevance of indicators to measure the implementation of HSE&S policy. Perform EHS audits as a senior internal auditor.

Participates in defining the content of annual HSES training programs.

Coordinates the sharing of best practices between sites in his/her fields of responsibility.

Provides training on the transportation of dangerous goods. Prepares the Annual Transportation of Dangerous Goods Report.

Reports environmental and sustainability performance to senior management on a regular basis.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
-
Master II degree, engineer or PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry (organic chemistry preferred) or environment

5+ years of EHS or Sustainability responsibility, preferably in a chemical/petrochemical company or as a consultant. Experience in plant operation is a plus.

Specialization in environment (Seveso, BAT, REACH, European Green Deal, carbon footprint) and transport of dangerous goods (DGSA certificate).

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and French. Another language is a plus.

Ability to travel throughout the EMEAI Region and occasionally to the US.
