The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for maintaining the general ledger, handling month-end close, reviewing accounts receivable (AR) collections, managing fixed assets, reviewing standard costs, completing sales tax reporting and providing general financial assistance to others in the company


  • Lead monthly and year-end close processes including consolidating multiple operating divisions, analyzing results and ensuring appropriate internal controls are in place.
  • Fixed Asset Management-Review fixed asset register monthly and maintain asset information. Add new assets quarterly, assess depreciation on idle assets and remove scrapped assets from the register
  • Inventory Control and Reporting –Monthly analysis of Book to Perpetual reports and resolving any Standard Costs, Negative On Hand, and large discrepancies in Inventory
  • Standard Costs-Work with multiple departments to ensure the accuracy of documentation and costing related to rollup of standard costs of all parts.  This includes monthly monitoring and annual preparation of Labor and Overhead Costs
  • Audit Coordination-Assist with internal and external auditors in regards to Sarbanes-Oxley, GAAP, inventory and State Sales Tax
  • Accounts Receivable-Monitor, review and collect delinquent accounts and submit reports
  • Accounts Payable-Oversee Accounts Payable functions
  • Annual Operating Budget-participation as required
  • Other Duties as assigned


  • Provide necessary support to Controller and management as requested
  • Special project and ad-hoc requests as assigned by the controller
  • Experience in a variety of financial software packages, especially QAD, SAP and Business Objects Reporting is preferred
  • Flexible to change, and possess a high degree level of integrity and “can do attitude”

  • Accounts Payable/Bookkeeper

  • B.S. or B.B.A with an emphasis in Accounting
  • MBA, CPA considered a plus
  • At least 10 years of experience of accounting with a mid-size Manufacturing company. 
  • Self-motivated, strong team player, good at communicating
  • Strong computer skills in Excel, with emphasis on pivot tables. Proficient in MS Office products
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills

The employee may frequently be subject to dynamic standing/walking with constant exposure to use of hands to finger/handle/touch and static standing/sitting.  The employee will rarely (if ever) be subject to sustained bending, pushing/pulling, floor to knuckle lift/lower, knuckle to shoulder lift/lower, shoulder to overhead lift/lower, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach above shoulders, repetitive bending or squatting, use foot/feet to operate machine and climb/balance.


The following vision requirements apply: close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

The employee may occasionally be exposed to travel on company business and rarely (if ever) exposure to risk of shock, working near moving mechanical parts, wet humid conditions, working in high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold or heat, outdoor weather conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals.  The noise level is considered quiet (library, private office).


The employee will be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as: safety glasses in the designated areas, hairnet/beard net, gloves when handling hot objects or solvents, jumpsuit, earplugs (when needed) on production floor.



The employee will constantly use PC with Microsoft Office products with occasional use of QAD (or similar ERP system) and various internet based websites (such as PrivateBank or Fidelity—or similar websites)
