Quality Inspector is responsible for the inspection and testing of materials developed in the manufacturing process at Vesta.  Inspectors must maintain quality standards.



  • Understanding of GMP and company policies
  • Able to perform start up, in process and final inspections without supervision
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the operation of the Vision systems
  • Ability to perform the sampling process
  • Must be able to use and read measuring devices and gauging equipment
  • Ability to run all optical measuring systems unsupervised
  • Ability to run tensile testing systems unsupervised
  • Excellent demonstrated Math skills
  • Performs specific inspection of product as per the router/work instructions
  • Accurate data collection on routers, QAD (or similar ERP systems), Factivity (or similar labor manufacturing software), (daily production tickets, time clocks and other forms used in the specific area
  • Weigh/count parts to ensure accurate counting
  • Verify equipment/tools/material used per work instruction and/or routers
  • Ensure the quality of the product meets the specifications listed on the router
  • Understand and follow the SOPs pertaining to the specific area.
  • Understand and follow all work instructions pertaining to each specific area
  • Observe and promote Company standards and policies on safety, quality and productivity
  • Support and observe 5S and other lean manufacturing methodologies
  • Ability to successful demonstrate proficiency in math and problem solving assessment
  • Understand and follow the instructions per applicable routers and guidance documents (QOP, SOP, MOP, etc).
  • Attention to detail – the parts will look only as good as the fabricator can form them

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated the consistent ability to work independently, and as a team player with excellent interpersonal skills

This position is predominantly standing or walking with frequent pushing or pulling and lifting of up to 30 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs. There is bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, squatting and some climbing. Close, distance and color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust visual focus is needed. Work is near moving mechanical parts and there are some fumes or airborne particles and use of chemicals and very loud noises


Vision: close vision-clear vision – 20:20 vision with correction, depth perception (three dimensional vision), and ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus

Lifting: the physical demand for this job is considered moderate with regular lifting of parts up to 30 pounds. Exposure to lifting more than 50 pounds is rare (if ever).


Movement: during assembly work, employee will frequently need to use hands to manipulate tools to form parts and to move parts within the process.  Perform repetitive tasks and some frequent reaching is required to move parts.  The employee will frequently move carts of product through the process and into ovens and sterilizers.  The employee will occasionally need to stand and walk and may need to use foot/feet to operate machine.  Rarely (if ever) will the employee be subject to floor to knuckle lift/lower, knuckle to shoulder lift/lower, shoulder to overhead lift/lower, sustained bending, climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach above shoulders or repetitive bending or squatting.

The employee will occasionally be exposed to working near moving mechanical parts, chemicals used for silicone mixing and cleaning, and related fumes.  Employee will not generally be exposed to airborne particles or risk of electrical shock.  The noise level will normally not require ear protection.

The employee will be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment for a clean room.  This includes: safety glasses in the designated areas, hairnet/beard net, jumpsuit, gloves and booties when on the production floor.

Employee may need to wear respirator for one operation.



The employee may need to use a computer or touchpad screen for reporting completion of production steps, making labels, inspection

Also tools and equipment such as, lamp/lens, electronic scales and various fixtures will be needed for inspection, and some hand tools may be used for part forming.
