Lubrizol’s contract manufacturing business specializes in producing thermoplastic extruded tubing and components for medical devices that are used in hospitals internationally. We strongly believe that it takes quality people to make quality products that are so important for everyday use, and we are always looking to expand our Lubrizol family. The Medical Device Contract Manufacturing business is located in Corona, California, which is located in Riverside County. We less than 30 miles away from the beach and Disneyland.  The Corona, California location has a class 8 certified clean room, which is 17,000 square feet. We have 14 extrusion lines as well as co-ex lines. We are able to run multiple extruders which can produce a two layer, stripes and three-layer extrusion.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Material Handler will provide support to the production floor, materials manager, manufacturing and quality, through the execution of planning, and logistics of materials on hand. Responsibilities will include working with Manufacturing to ensure availability of materials and prioritization of customers and on-time delivery and will provide the needed material to the floor to accommodate extrusion technicians to meet production schedule.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Is directed on the material for scheduling activities to support production of product and ensure OTD.
  • Follows work orders to ensure manufacturing is supported in production.
  • Maintains and follows schedule for shipment to customers
  • Coordinates with secondary operations department
  • Oversees shipping and receiving is processed in a timely manner to me OTD
  • Maintains raw material records
  • Maintains raw material, work-in-process and finished goods inventory
  • Assists with resolving problems with orders, delivery dates or service.
  • Use computer to access and/or update customer records

  • The employee will occasionally be exposed to working near moving mechanical parts such as the bandsaw. 
  • The employee will rarely (if ever) be subject to temperatures ranging from 1 – 5 degrees plus or minus from the outside, wet humid conditions, working in high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, tool room fumes, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold or heat, risk of electrical shock or travel on company business such as travel for supplies or to FedEx or UPS. 
  • The noise level is considered moderate (business office, computer printer, light traffic level) and frequently considered loud if near operating production equipment (Air Compressor/Maintenance room/Bay Doors).
  • The employee will be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as: safety glasses in the designated areas, hairnet/beard net and lab coat when on production floor.

 

TOOLS/EQUIPMENT/COMPUTER SOFTWARE:

 

  • The employee will frequently use PC with Microsoft Office products, and occasionally use Minitab (or other statistical software).
