Essential Duties:

 

A:  Warehouse Related (under the direction of the Warehouse Manager):

  • Transfers pallets of drums and pails of finished products via forklift from production to locations in the warehouse.
  • Picks drums and pails from specific locations as per pick sheets and re-palletizes onto new pallets.
  • Applies customer labels, drum cap seals, and stretch wraps pallets prior to shipping.
  • Loads pallets of drums and pails into trailers and containers as per pick tickets and shipping instructions.
  • Receives incoming packaged raw materials and follows sampling and receiving instructions.  
  • Repackages finished products from drums into pails.
  • Transfers new empty drums from incoming trailers to pallets and/or into storage trailers.
  • Receives new pallets and transfers to storage trailer.
  • Completes daily forklift inspection records and trailer entry checklist.
  • Performs general warehouse housekeeping procedures.
  • Follows all warehouse safety rules.

 

B:  Production Related (under the direction of the Production Lead Operator):

  • Sets up new drums and pails onto pallets for filling.
  • Fills products from production reactors into drums and pails as per information on production batch sheets.
  • Labels drums and pails as per information on production batch sheets.
  • Transfers drums of finished products and raw materials into and out of production area via forklift.
  • Charges raw materials to production reactors.
  • Loads and unloads drums and totes into hotbox.
  • Transfers empty raw material drums into trailer for reconditioning company.
  • Performs general production housekeeping procedures.
  • Follows all production safety rules.

 

C:  Maintenance Related (under the direction of the Facilities Specialist):

  • Assists with general maintenance functions that include pipe fitting, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing work.
  • Assists with general preventive maintenance functions that include equipment lubrication, safety and eyewash inspections, ladder inspections, and forklift inspections.
  • Performs general cleaning of equipment, pipelines, floors, and other areas of the facility as instructed.
  • Follows all maintenance safety rules.

 

 Other Responsibilities:

  • Understands the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Must qualify to wear an air purifying respirator for use when handling certain hazardous materials and for emergency response.
  • Must be trained in site emergency response procedures.
  • Follows all plant safety, security, and ethics rules.
  • Proficient in math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Proficient in the English language including reading and writing.
  • Certified to operate a forklift.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of manual hand tools.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 55 pounds.
  • Gets along with others and is a team player.

 

Education – Experience Requirements:

  • A high school diploma is required for this position.
  • 3 years minimum experience in a warehouse, chemical manufacturing, or maintenance environment.
  • Must be certified to operate a forklift.
  • Must be familiar with general plant safety rules.
  • Must have good organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Previous experience with the handling of chemicals and the use of a respirator is helpful.
