Packaging & Warehouse Supervisor


Principle Purpose:

  • The principle purpose of the Packaging & Warehouse Supervisor is to provide leadership, support and guidance for the operation of the Packaging and Warehouse departments. Incumbent will work directly with Packaging & Warehouse employees, maintenance and engineering to help troubleshoot and resolve recurring issues that impact productivity in this area. This position will also work alongside other areas of the plant to help support and achieve the overall success of the plant.


Essential Job Functions:

  • The Packaging & Warehouse Supervisor will manage all Packaging and Warehouse employees, including the day-shift Packaging-Warehouse Relief Operator. 
  • Assist with scheduling of overtime in the Warehouse
  • Plan, support and troubleshoot activities occurring within areas of responsibility (Packaging & Warehouse)
  • Work with maintenance to plan related activities in alignment with production needs.  Assist / coach employees with troubleshooting and proper equipment maintenance
  • Analyze production performance and make improvements as needed
  • Work with operators to improve process efficiency and productivity through standardization and coaching
  • Provide all necessary training for employees in areas of responsibility
  • Ensure annual procedure reviews are complete
  • Work with area process engineers to develop, revise and implement operational policies and procedures
  • Review H/S/E performance and implement procedures to improve
  • Review Product Quality performance and implement procedures to improve
  • Assist with the development, and implementation of departmental training manuals. 
  • Further develop and maintain on-the-job training processes.
  • Develop procedure specific refresher and/or recertification training within area of responsibility.
  • Accountability and Decision Making:

    • Worth with appropriate managers to handle employee discipline up to and including termination, employee recognition, policies that effect personnel, etc.
    • This position has the authority to change recipes and chemicals, modify equipment operating procedures, implement management procedures, and initiate process improvement projects in compliance with the PSM-03 procedure and established management systems.
  • RC14001 / HSES Goals for Individual:
    • Adhere to all RC14001 and HSES procedures and practices to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies.
    • Report all accidents, injuries, spills, releases and near misses immediately to the Manufacturing Manager or HSES Department. Safety suggestions should also be reported.
    • Complete required safety training on time.
    • Responsible for maintaining, improving and establishing corrective and preventive action process relating to the RC14001 and HSES programs for their respective area of responsibility.
    • Coordinate area activities and resources in implementation of the RC14001 and HSES requirements. Provide information and feedback to the HSES Department as appropriate


Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field or at least 5 years of equivalent technical (Supervisor) experience, preferred. 
  • Prior experience / knowledge of Calvert City facility (or related chemical manufacturing process) preferred
  • Ability to multi-task, investigate, summarize and offer creative solutions
  • Must have strong work ethic, professional attitude, reliability and focus on safety
  • Must have high degree of organization and be detail oriented.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with varying levels of the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be a self-starter who works well independently and in a team environment
  • Customer service focused
  • Ability to plan, manage and prioritize multiple work assignments
  • Working knowledge of various computer systems including Delta V, Microsoft Office suite and SAP or similar software.


General PPE:

  • FRC, hard hat, safety glasses, safety footwear, hearing protection and mouth-bit respirator, in addition to any additional PPE required for your area. Pkg-Whse Supervisor must abide by facial hair policy and must be medically approved for ½ face and full-face respirator usage.
