Principle Purpose:

  • The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for the performance of the manufacturing area, and for providing technical support to the manufacturing process.  The Manufacturing Manager directly supervises the Plant Foreman, Process Engineers, Department Leads, Packaging and Warehouse Supervisor and indirectly manages the hourly personnel that fall within the Operations areas.  This role requires interaction with Marketing, R&D, and business management in the development of new products and technologies, and implementation of the manufacturing plan.  Administration of the Manufacturing Authorization System is also included.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Direct Production Shift Supervisors
  • Process Optimization / Troubleshooting
  • Analyze production / budget status and report
  • Review H/S/E performance and implement procedures to improve
  • Review Product Quality performance and implement procedures to improve
  • Manage production priorities and expenditures up to authorized limits
  • Strategically assess opportunities to improve efficiencies in the Operations area (including process / equipment / manning / etc.)
  • Accountability and Decision Making:
    • Demonstrate Cultural Beliefs (All In, Take Action, Lead Decisively, Think External, Be Courageous)
    • Accountable for personal safety and that of others in work place
    • Worth with appropriate managers to handle employee discipline up to and including termination, employee recognition, policies that effect personnel, etc.
    • This position has the authority to change recipes and chemicals, modify equipment operating procedures, implement management procedures, approve expenditures, and initiate process improvement projects in compliance with the PSM-03 procedure and established management systems.
  • RC 14001 / HSES Goals for Individual:
    • Adhere to all RC 14001 and HSES procedures and practices to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies
    • Report all accidents, injuries, spills, releases and near misses immediately to the Supervisor or HSES Department.  Safety suggestions should also be reported.
    • Complete all required safety training in the month it is assigned.
    • Responsible for maintaining, improving and establishing corrective and preventive action process relating to the RC 14001 and HSES programs for their respective area of responsibility.
    • Participate in RC 14001 Management Review Meetings
    • Coordinate department activities and resources in implementation of the RC 14001 and HSES requirements.    Provide information and feedback to the HSES Department as appropriate
  • GMP Goals for Individual:
    • Comply with ISO 9001:2015/GMP Quality System
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

 

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (or related field), minimum 5 years manufacturing process experience and supervisory experience preferred
  • Good understanding of production operations as well as strong knowledge of plant controls and instrumentation
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal. 
  • Employee must have good analytical troubleshooting skills and be proficient with basic computer systems
  • Must have strong work ethic, professional attitude, safe work practices, reliability, organization and be detail oriented
  • Interpersonal skills to handle difficult issues and confidential

 

General PPE:

  • FRC, hard hat, safety glasses, safety footwear, hearing protection and mouth-bit respirator, in addition to any additional PPE required for your area.  Manufacturing Mgr. must follow by facial hair policy and must be medically approved for ½ face and full- face respirator usage.
