Summary of Responsibilities


Organize and maintain orderly process in the planning and execution of Lubrizol’s EMEA EU Government Affairs strategy and activities. Provide input, analysis and support for development of Lubrizol’s relationship building and policy advocacy in EMEA and EU.   


- Coordinate logistics for meeting calendar - tracked against agreed priorities

- Coordinate legislative monitoring, tracking and reporting

- Attend/report out on European Parliament Committee meetings   

- Support relevant document development for interaction with officials, including developing internal stakeholders to facilitate access to data

- Contribute to internal tracking and reporting of Government Affairs activities

- Develop and maintain relationships with key Parliamentary assistants and, where appropriate members

- Represent Lubrizol at working group level in selected trade associations

- Support internal communications on PA activities that support operations

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Competencies)


  • Sound understanding of EU institutions and procedures.
  • Experience in or advocating to European institutions; policy aide preferred 
  • Excellent organizational skills and eye for detail
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Collaborative team player
  • Excellent written skills
  • Able to deal effectively with ambiguity, change and uncertainty
  • Work effectively with multicultural team members and across functions
  • Desire to develop advocacy skills and take on more responsibilities
  • Fluent in English and at least one other European languages (preference for two).
  • Located in Brussels.

Lubrizol is present in the Brussels area with two locations and a total of about 100 employees: the Corporate office in Brussels city supports the business with services such as Finance, IT, Procurement, Customer Service, and HR.
