Supply Planner

 

Essential Role Functions:

  • The Supply Planner has a key role in the Supply Chain organization, supporting business continuity and customer satisfaction by owning and driving the Supply Plan in the mid-term horizon (14 days – 6 months). This includes the following areas:
    • Supply Plan determination and review: Determine, review and analyze the Supply Plan to define whether the demand plan can be met taking supply limitations and capacity constraints into account. Utilize concurrent planning technology to proactively identify potential issues. Adjust sourcing options or constraint data in collaboration with Strategic Planners to resolve demand and supply at risk. Deliver a supply plan which is an optimal reference for all replenishment activities in the scheduling horizon.
    • Constraint maintenance and Capacity Utilization review: Develop a detailed understanding of manufacturing constraints and capabilities of the manufacturing locations being planned in order to be able to model these constraints into the planning technology. Identify and analyze constraint problems including early detection and proactive management of over and under-utilized resources. A systematic two-way communication to discuss the Capacity (constraint) Plan between the Supply Planner, the Strategic Planner and Manufacturing Operations teams is key. Coordinate plant capabilities against customer needs. Communicate timely to Customer Service and Commercial partners. 
    • Governance and optimization planning related Master Data: Maintain and optimize all planning-related master data as drivers for an optimal supply plan. 
    • Inventory Management: Define and maintain appropriate inventory levels by reviewing system-proposed safety stock levels on a monthly basis to ensure a timely material availability and minimize the impact of demand volatilities. Monitor Days of Coverage to review the inventory position and initiates actions to achieve target.
    • Supply Review for Sales & Operations Planning Process: Support the Sales & Operations Planning Process by preparing and facilitating the Supply response to the Demand Plan, including the review in the regional meetings.
    • Communication with Demand Planners and Commercial Stakeholders: Initiate internal communications with Demand Planners and Commercial Stakeholders based on changes in the demand curves noticed.
    • Metrics: Monitor and drive continuous improvement to the following Metrics:
      • On Time Shipment Performance
      • Plan Compliance (Planned vs Actual)
      • Inventory Days of Coverage
      • Master Data Accuracy

 

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, other Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Logistics Management or other relevant degree with proven data analytics skills; extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in Supply Planning, Supply Chain Management or Logistics Management
  • Detailed knowledge on Supply Planning and Inventory Management
  • Advanced mathematical and analytical skills
  • Ability to identify and anticipate on potential supply issues
  • Demonstrated willingness to challenge status quo and drive for continuous improvement
  • Results oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills 

 

Considered a plus:

  • Knowledge of Kinaxis RapidResponse, APICS or CPIM certified
  • Financial acumen
  • Additional language skills
