Lubrizol is currently looking for an influential, organized Project Manager to join our Medical Technology and Innovation division.  As a key member of the Medical organization, you would be critical in enabling the business to drive sustainable growth by leading key and strategic projects through to completion.  As a project manager, your job is to lead, plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of identified projects. In this role, you will work closely with the portfolio manager and with the cross functional project teams to make sure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule (meeting the timing of the various project milestones), on budget, and ultimately successful. This role can be based anywhere in the US where Lubrizol operates, following either a hybrid or remote working model. 


What you will do: 

  • Utilize Microsoft Project, to create and track project plans, manage timelines, build action items and assign responsibilities to achieve project milestones.
  • Manage cross-functional project teams throughout the project from overall project planning through execution.
  • Report project status to team members, the portfolio manager, and leadership.
  • Project controlling: Compare plan vs actual numbers (hours, spending, etc.) and report to the team members and the portfolio manager.
  • Implement, coordinate and chair regular project meetings internally but also between the medical organization and the customer ensuring all parties are meeting their deliverables
  • Document lessons learned for the projects in an efficient manner.
  • Work with project and management teams to appropriately staff projects (resource management).
  • Promote use of tools and processes to drive improvement in overall schedule performance and accountability.
  • Conduct risk assessment. Evaluate risk/reward trade-offs. Develop contingency plans. Communicate timely and effectively about risks that could impact objectives and deliverables. 
  • Understand and follow the Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.


What you need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five or more years of experience in project management in a Program Management Office. Preferably certified in project management (PMP or PMI).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Project, problem solving techniques and/or other data-driven skill sets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and outstanding organizational abilities.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet delivery dates in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible to change and possess a high degree level of integrity and “can do attitude”.
  • Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.
  • Operates on a high level of pro-activeness, requiring minimal supervision.
