Pricing & Demand Manager – Performance Coatings

The Pricing & Demand Manager position sits at the nexus of commercial strategy and operations in Lubrizol Advanced Material’s Performance Coatings business. The ideal candidate has an affinity for working with complex data systems, can think analytically, develop plans and strategies, and has excellent communication skills. The purpose of this role is to use knowledge of market conditions to both forecast future demand, and to develop and execute pricing strategy. The Pricing and Demand Manager will interact with many aspects of the business, including sales, marketing, product management, and supply chain.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as knowledge leader on pricing systems, answer questions and provide analysis
  • Work with pricing administration to update pricing as strategy requires
  • Use financial metrics and pricing strategy to assign prices to products and keep contracts updated
  • Help develop pricing strategy to maximize financial results and meet business goals
  • Work with sales and marketing to create a forecast of future demand.
  • Use metrics to quantify forecast success and update as necessary.
  • Communicate with product management and supply chain to ensure alignment between market demand and production plans.
  • Manage pricing metrics
  • Provide support as needed to Sales & Supply Chain on product/customer allocation process.
  • Monitor global pricing trends for select accounts to ensure alignment of margin targets are being met.
  • Manage customer formula-based pricing and make recommendations if there are price/margin gaps.
  • As knowledge of the business grows, contribute to commercial projects in areas including innovation, strategy, and market analysis.

 

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field. Extensive Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ years experience in operations, finance or commercial area
  • Intermediate to advanced user of Excel
  • Experience working with and leading cross-functional teams
  • Possess strong communication skills
  • Be highly organized, creative, and extremely detail oriented
  • Experience with SAP and BOBJ (Business Objects)

 

CONSIDERED A PLUS:

  • MBA degree
  • SAP master data experience
