Working within a diverse technical team, the Postdoctoral Research Associate will be responsible for executing independent scientific research and development activities in the laboratory as well working with external partners and customers as it relates to the development of novel Separations Solutions.


Essential Job Functions

  • Plans and conducts day-to-day experimental activities relating to assigned research and/or product development projects.
  • Performs structured experimental designs in collaboration with Lubrizol’s Data Science and Analytics team.
  • Uses functional expertise and experience in membrane technology to augment Lubrizol’s capabilities in applications testing and characterization of novel membrane materials.
  • Interfaces with partners and/or customers on collaborative projects.
  • Supports pilot scale studies, testing, and scale-up efforts.


Required Education, Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with membranes, including developing membrane separation processes, hands-on experience in membrane preparation, membrane and/or materials characterization, membrane failure analysis, &/or testing and interpretation of results
  • Proven track record of executing complex research programs
  • Evaluating and applying relevant scientific literature and state of the art technology and techniques
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Comfortable working with basic modeling, and/or instrumentation software
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proven track record of writing detailed technical papers and project reports
  • May include up to 25% domestic travel
