Summary of Responsibilities:

The primary purpose of this role is to injection mold sample parts, evaluate processing and coordinate part testing.  This role will also actively coordinate with R&D and Technical Service engineers on projects and customer challenges as well as maintain and upgrade injection molding machines and area.


Essential Job Functions:  

  • Work with Application and Tech Service Engineers to set up test plans to evaluate new and existing materials and to achieve results and/or resolve issues
  • Set up and run trials on process equipment (injection molding primary, compression molding) to prepare material for laboratory testing
  • Generate documentation on experiments that can be used to control traceability and ensure reproducibility
  • Complete and report out on assigned laboratory testing
  • Maintain all aspects of the injection molding process including, but not limited to, set-up and tear down, troubleshooting, and work flow
  • Coordinate sample shipments and stage incoming materials for process work
  • Maintain and continuously improve testing procedures for improved consistency
  • Maintain and order spare parts and laboratory supplies when necessary
  • Effectively foster communication across all levels
  • Proactively maintain good housekeeping in lab area and demonstrate a high level of safety awareness and promote a safe work environment including cyber security



Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

  • Associate / High school degree with 5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to do lab tests, assess and interpret various test results and methods.
  • Polymer processing skills – injection molding, hands on experience in polymer processing.
  • Experience in scientific molding a plus
  • Candidate must be proactive and show initiative in taking on and completing projects on time
  • Ability to assess and interpret various test results and methods
  • Ability to troubleshoot process or mechanical related issues
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities and a strong drive for results
  • High level of detail orientation
  • Strong communication and written reporting skills
