Job Summary:

  • The Export Logistics SME will help develop Export Process Excellence in Lubrizol by integrating people, processes, and systems.

 

 Essential Job Functions:

  • As the SME (Subject Matter Expert) in the export logistics area, possess a deep understanding of logistics processes, systems, and capabilities. Be able to handle daily inquiries from logistics execution team and issues escalated from the demand regions.
  • Look for efficiency improvements and standard methodologies with the goal of driving an elevated logistics service.
  • Analyze process gaps and export related complaints. Liaise with respective functions to conduct root cause analysis and identify countermeasures. Able to solve sophisticated problems from start to finish systematically.
  • Document export process and procedures based on user and operational needs. Build and maintain a repository and keep it updated. Through trainings and user adoptions initiatives, ensure changes are well communicated, processes are consistently executed, and deviations are timely analyzed.
  • Identify, report, and analyze key performance metrics to highlight areas of improvement. Collaborate closely with logistics execution team to propose solutions to optimize processes and systems that ultimately deliver efficiencies and improvements to the Lubrizol logistics operations.
  • Continuously improve export metrics design to meet evolving business needs. Generate the export metrics in the interim before India Supply Chain center is up and running.
  • Support other continuous improvement initiatives within Global Logistics Shared Services as needed. 

 

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or technical field (extensive experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • Minimum 5 years of logistics related experience
  • Has an understanding and experience with various process improvement methodologies and tools, such as Lean Six Sigma
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Strong mindset for process improvements
  • Has a passion for continuous improvements with excellent ability in manipulating data to explore, discover, investigate, visualize and to raise issues in a proactive and timely manner
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, especially to solve organizational needs with process and systems
  • Self-starter who is motivated and energized to work in ambiguous and changing environments.

 

CONSIDERED A PLUS:

  • Experience in leading complex process improvement initiatives
  • Process Improvement Certification
  • Proficient in SAP and BOBJ reports
