Key Job Accountabilities

  • Manage major capital projects throughout Lubrizol Advanced Materials operations globally. 
  • Manage the technical, commercial and financial aspects of the capital projects.
  • Manage projects on scope, on time, on budget and in accordance with Lubrizol Advanced Materials stage gate process.
  • Manage relationships with engineering and construction firms.
  • Manage relationships within Lubrizol Advanced Materials (R&D, manufacturing, maintenance, legal, procurement, accounting, tax and global business units).
  • Ensure that capital projects are designed and installed safely and in accordance with applicable regulatory, corporate and local standards.
  • Lead scope development and resultant project cost estimate.
  • Collaborate with Procurement on commercial negotiations with vendors and contractors.
  • Lead communications from capital request to project development through project completion.  This includes monthly project status reporting, a review of project spending to date and forecasted spending.
  • Perform engineering project design and installation to support operations.
  • Work with construction management team at the construction site.
  • Assist with developing asset strategies by working with the global business units and plants.
  • Participate in the development of the annual capital plan.
  • Provide project management leadership to process-related R&D projects on the Brecksville campus.


Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of five years of Project Engineering/Manufacturing/Maintenance experience.
  • Proven Project Management experience.  PMP certification considered a plus.
  • Process Engineering experience considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards.
  • Maintenance/Utility knowledge.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal communications, team building and motivational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office products including Microsoft Project.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks.
  • Travel required.
