Strategic Marketing Manager for Global Medical Business (Polymers and Medical Device CM)


Responsible for identifying market needs (target markets, customers, capabilities, products, services) and translating into defined business cases (internal development, M&A, partnerships/alliances) for medical design, development, contract manufacturing, polymers and other identified applications or services. This is a results-oriented role responsible for transformational growth of the Global Medical Business.


Accountabilities Include:


Marketing lead for new technology development supporting the Medical Strategy (Device Design/Components/Subassemblies/Finished Devices/Polymers)

  • Market and customer intelligence and new opportunity development
  • Attend Industry shows/symposiums to identify new markets, technologies, capabilities, services and customers
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with Clinical thought leading institutions, medical device incubators, industry partners and private equity/VC backed companies to optimally position LLS Health-Medical and a solution provider and/or partner for new medical technologies
  • Engage with Technology and Innovation, Commercial and Operation teams to identify gaps in current capabilities needed to effectively execute on the business strategy
  • Collaborate with Technology and Innovation Teams to ensure approved projects are effectively and timely executed and actively participate on project teams, including acting as Commercial Lead or Project Owner on case by case basis
  • Collaborate with leadership to update business segment strategy
  • Create business cases for new markets, capabilities, partnerships and acquisitions that are consistent with the overall strategy
  • Ad Hoc projects as they present themselves



Market Knowledge, Translation, and Communication

  • Conduct and maintain competitor analysis and develop plan to better position LLS in market
  • Continued development and implementation of the value proposition to promote a unique integrated strategy of core competencies and supporting businesses to further promote us.
  • Collaborate with MarCom to develop and ensure campaigns and assets are effectively communicating our Value Proposition to the market place
  • Ad Hoc projects as they present themselves

Commercial Leadership

  • Create penetration plan for new markets, customers, and capabilities to enable growth of medical business
  • Strategize with customer, sales team, and technical teams to effectively win projects
  • Partner with business leader and internal legal department in negotiations of commercial agreements as needed (development, supply, etc.) for business development projects
  • Engagement at higher levels of customer in target markets and/or newly identified BD/Technical Projects to position Lubrizol as a preferred solution provider and partner
  • Ad Hoc projects as they present themselves



  • Able to work independently and proactively with little direction or supervision
  • Self Starter with strong drive to succeed
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced excel and powerpoint skills
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%
