The Laboratory Technician, Analytical Services will report to the Clinical Analytical Supervisor, and will support the analysts working in the main Analytical Services laboratory.  This individual will provide hands-on routine support duties, including those listed below.  The support duties are typically assigned on a weekly rotating basis, but may be assigned as sole responsibilities, depending on project flow. 


In addition to the routine support duties, the technician may be trained in select instrumental measurements and analytical test techniques.  These activities would be performed under the guidance of an analyst or manager.  Select laboratory organization projects and tasks within analytical programs may be assigned.  In addition, participation in client-based project teams may be requested.


The Analytical Services department supports drug development that falls within FDA regulation under cGMP requirements.  Compliance to all procedures, documentation according to internal requirements, and attention to detail are essential in all positions within the laboratory.  Training in specific task procedures and documentation practices is provided.



  • Maintains glassware by cleaning, washing, distributing and organizing it
  • Organizes common laboratory areas and storage areas
  • Standardizes and maintains shared instruments daily, such as analytical balances and pH meters
  • Keeps common laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt; storing
  • Stores/stocks project-specific supplies
  • Logs in samples
  • Provides assistance and support to analysts
  • Performs assigned specific project-related tests/tasks
  • Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books
  • Resolves problems by examining and evaluating data; presenting corrective steps to management
  • Completes projects by assisting analysts and project team
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Enhances laboratory and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments



  • Knowledge of a chemistry lab environment is required
  • Minimum of an Associate degree in a scientific field is required; BS/BA preferred
  • Outstanding recordkeeping skills and attention to detail are required
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word are necessary
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Knowledge of cGMPs, GLPs, and FDA/ICH guidelines is a plus
