Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Analytical Chemist with a strong background in the area of method development to join our Analytical Services team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead in the development of new methods for the characterization of complex pharmaceutical products. The Analytical Chemist makes a hands-on contribution from R&D method development through GLP/GMP method validation and transfer, in a fast-paced CRO/CMO environment.  Work will be both self-directed and under the guidance of an analytical director, while functioning as part of an interdisciplinary team. Your contributions will be laboratory-based and your high level of ability to perform analytical tests within the laboratory, as well as interpret and communicate the results, is critical. You’ll have a high degree of autonomy, freedom to manage your own time, and the opportunity to collaborate with highly skilled teams including project managers, technical managers, formulators and other analytical chemists.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support and advance analytical testing. In the first few weeks of your role, you will support clinical drug development by testing, developing, documenting, and implementing analytical methods. You will execute testing of finished dosage forms via HPLC, UPLC, GC and dissolution techniques, amongst others.
  • Independently develop methods. Over the first ninety days, you will work to develop methods primarily for HPLC, UPLC, GC and dissolution.
  • Participate in diverse project work. In the first six months of your role, you will rely on your pharmaceutical industry experience. This is essential as you lead/participate in clinical drug development projects in partnership with other departments.
  • Contribute to innovation. In your first 12 months, you will build on your pharmaceutical industry experience to act as an analytical technical lead on projects with high business impact and help drive progress in pharmaceutical product development by solving complex technical problems.
  • Tell stories with data. As a key member of the analytical services group, your ability to communicate well helps to provide our customers, functional groups, and management team with meaningful insights from data.


Factors for Success:

  • Must have at least 5 years of pharmaceutical experience, preferably in an analytical chemist or related role.
  • Ability to develop methods, execute laboratory analyses and interpret data independently
  • Experience working in a cGMP environment
  • Practical knowledge of cGMPs, GLP, and FDA/ICH guidelines and their application to drug development and release
  • Experience with complex dosage forms, such as implantables and injectables, is highly preferred.
