HR Manager – Avon Lake

Lubrizol is looking for a Human Resources Manager that will be responsible for front-line Human Resource leadership at our Avon Lake, Ohio facility. This position provides HR program and strategy execution across a full spectrum of Human Resources services to support operations and business initiatives.

 

Your essential functions will include:

  • Working with the North America HR team, support the Avon Lake plant to execute HR strategies and initiatives, including but not limited to onboarding, employee hire to retire lifecycle, talent acquisition, training and development, employee engagement, Diversity and Inclusion, strategic workforce planning and other site-specific HR work that is critical to provide effective support
  • Creating and administering Human Resource policies and procedures; conducting investigations, providing counsel and advice to employees and managers on Human Resource polices/practices/procedures
  • Managing day-to-day employee relations activities for the business
  • As a member of the plant leadership team, supporting/directing cultural initiatives as well as serving as a participant and advisor during strategic alignment process
  • Communicating and implementing corporate and global operations Human Resource initiatives
  • Promoting and maintaining a positive and respectful working environment
  • Possessing a continuous improvement mindset; recommending and implementing process improvements
  • Possessing and modeling the organization’s cultural beliefs reflecting a strong emphasis on accountability and measurement of results
  • Providing and analyzing HR data to support recommendations for change
  • Supporting and managing HR systems to ensure legal compliance
  • Leading and completing other miscellaneous projects as necessary

 

Skills / Experience

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, business or other related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in an HR partner role with a broad understanding of core HR processes within HR technology & systems, talent management, and total rewards
  • Experience collaborating with a team of HR professionals and plant leadership
  • Coaching, influencing and making sound judgment calls
  • Critical-thinking skills with the ability to think strategically and execute on ideas
  • Solid negotiating and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough decision-making capability
  • Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office and a Human Capital Management system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally as needed

 

Considered a Plus:

  • 3 years’ experience in an HR plant manufacturing environment
  • Experience with SAP/Success Factors
  • HR certification
